Connection

external

equipment

S-video/Audio

in

sockets

(S-AV)

(option)

When

connecting

a

S-VIDEO

VCR

to

the

S-VIDEOsocket,

the

picture

quality

will

be

further

improved.

1.Connect

the

S-video

socket

of

the

VCR

to

the

S-VIDEOsocket

on

the

front

panel

of

the

set.

2.Connect

the

audio

cable

from

the

S-VIDEO

VCR

to

the

AUDIO

sockets

on

the

front

panel

of

the

set.

3.Select

AV

2by

pressing

the

TV/AVbutton

repeatedly.

4.

Press

the

PLAYbutton

on

the

VCR.

The

VCR

playback

picture

appears

on

the

screen.

Note

:

a.

S-VIDEO

socket

is

optional

function.

Only

a

set

with

the

S-

VIDEO

option

can

perform

this

function.

b.

If

you

have

a

mono

VCR,

connect

the

audio

cable

from

the

VCR

to

the

AUDIO

(L/MONO)

socket

on

the

control

panel

of

the

set.

Headphone

socket

(option)

In

some

models

which

have

a

headphone

socket

can

perform

this

function.

Insert

the

headphone

plug

to

the

headphone

socket

on

the

front

panel.

You

can

listen

to

the

sound

through

the

headphone

and

the

TV's

speakers.

To

adjust

the

headphone

volume,

see

the

'Sound

adjustment'

section.

If

you

press

the

MUTEbutton,

only

the

sound

from

the

TV's

speakers

is

switched

off.

When

a

programme

is

received

in

dual

language,

you

can

select

a

language

(I,

II

or

III)

for

the

sound

from

the

headphone

regard-

less

of

that

from

the

TV's

speakers.

In

the

Soundmenu,

press

the

¡a/¡a

button

to

select

!VOLUMEthen

I/IIbutton

to

select

the

desired

language;

I,

II

or

III.

At

this

time

if

the

set

is

in

AV

mode,

the

I/IIbutton

selects

output

sound;

LR,

LL

or

RR,

in

turn.
